Global Experts on Nephrology Gathers in Malaysia

PUTRAYAJA – 25 FEBRUARY 2022: Malaysia will be the focus of the medical industry again, as the country welcomes the World Congress of Nephrology 2022 (WCN’22) delegates at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 24th to 27th February 2022. Supported by Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), organised by the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) and joint by Malaysia Society of Nephrology (MSN) alongside Asian Pacific Society of Nephrology (APSN), this congress hosts the world’s leading experts in kidney health to exchange the latest science and clinical applications in improving kidney care and preventing kidney disease worldwide.

Being the first international hybrid event of 2022, MyCEB is pleased with the great response in the number of international delegates attending physically and virtually and this is due to the impressive lineup of plenary speakers that put forth a compact and impactful topics. More than 3,000 delegates are attending the event online with more than 900 Malaysians attending the event physically making it one of the highest turnouts for medical congress since the pandemic.
I would like to congratulate the organising committee for turning this event a reality especially having the need to crucially cater to both in person and virtual attendees. We are welcoming a total number of 2,100 international delegates virtually which I personally look forward to meet in person once border are open. This event was supposed to attract a record number of 4,000 international delegates which could have generated RM120 million in estimated economic impact had it be done physically. With this regard, I truly hope the government authorities shall reconsider ease of travel for our business events delegates that broadly contribute not only to the national economy, but more importantly to the advancement of medical and science,” says Dato’ Sri Abdul Khani Daud, Chief Executive Officer of MyCEB.

The World Congress of Nephrology 2022 (WCN’22) highlights three scientific themes within its programme which are , and . In addition, WCN’22 will also feature The ISN Community Film Event. A unique initiative to raise awareness and improve understanding the reality of living with kidney disease. This shows that demonstrating the confidence of international event organisers in Malaysia will create even more opportunities for high-quality international congresses to be held in the region.
