MACEOS UNVEILS KEY INITIATIVES TO PROPEL MALAYSIA'S BUSINESS EVENTS INDUSTRY
KUALA LUMPUR, 27 MAY 2024: The Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (MACEOS) has announced its latest Executive Committee lineup at the MACEOS Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 23 May 2024 at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).
Datuk Dr M Gandhi, Founder and Chairman of Bumiati Holding Sdn Bhd takes over the MACEOS leadership from outgoing President Francis Teo for the next two years for the 2024/2026 term.
Teo extended his congratulations to Datuk Dr M Gandhi, and shared: “Thanks to the
wonderful engagement and cooperation from everyone, the past two terms that I helmed MACEOS, have been highly rewarding. I am proud of our members for pulling through what remains till this day one of the toughest periods in business events, the COVID-19 pandemic. But I’m glad to say that we lived through it, survived it, and are thriving today!”
The AGM saw Teo recap the association’s past achievements during his tenure as President from 2020-2024. Among the key milestones hit during this period were the launching of the MACEOS Strategic Roadmap 2022-2030, the rolling out of the SafeBE certification programme during the pandemic, and the launching of the inaugural Business Events Forum in Sabah.
Newly-elected President, Datuk Dr M Gandhi said, “In assuming the Presidency of MACEOS, I am deeply grateful for the overwhelming support received. I commend the efforts of past committees and intend to build upon their success. My focus will be on expanding market opportunities for the benefit of all stakeholders, through collaborative efforts with the Government and other industry associations. With Malaysia set to chair ASEAN in 2025, it is the perfect time for our association to actively engage in fostering collaboration with fellow ASEAN nations, driving social, economic, and trade cooperation forward with Business Events."
Azman Tambi Chik, Chief Executive Officer of MyCEB, extended his heartfelt congratulations to Datuk Dr M Gandhi on being elected as the President of MACEOS for the 2024/2026 term, as well as to the new Exco lineup. "MyCEB has always been committed to supporting the growth and success of the Business Events industry and its players. We eagerly look forward to collaborating and elevating the BE industry to new heights," he said.
