Located in the Southeast Asia, Malaysia has been a popular tourist destination attracting more sophisticated travellers across the globe. With the rise of new Malaysian hotels from the year 2020 onwards, the travellers will have more reasons to step into the latest addition of the country’s accommodation that feels like home.
In 2020 & 2021, Malaysia saw the opening of nine new and rebranded hotels which are:

2. Courtyard PenangThis hotel offers 199 spacious hotel rooms and suites with plush bedding, smart TVs, free Wi-Fi and unobstructed 360-degree views of George Town.
3. Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, ChinatownThe 318-room opened its doors, and its central location will made it easily accessible by car or public transport.
4. AC Hotel Kuala Lumpur, AC Hotel Kuantan, AC Hotel PenangAC Hotels by Marriott opening a trio of properties in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Pahang which rebranded from its previous brand, Vistana.
5. Park Inn by Radisson PutrajayaThis hotel offers 220 rooms and suites feature modern styling and boasting seven flexible meeting rooms.
6. One & Only Desaru CoastThis luxury beach resort opened its door in Desaru Coast, marking their debut into Asia. It comprises 42 junior suites, two two-bedroom villas and a single four-bedroom villa. Each accommodation choice comes with its own private plunge poor.
7. DoubleTree by Hilton Putrajaya LakesideThe hotel offers 5-star accommodation within 4 acres of landscaped grounds along Putrajaya Lake with 10 spacious contemporary room categories with its distinctive touch.
8. ibis Styles Johor Iskandar PuteriThe hotel boasts 152 rooms and 4 modern meeting rooms. This hotel is ideal for both leisure and business travellers with its strategic location.
9. Four Points by Sheraton DesaruRefurbished and converted from Amansari Residence Desaru, the 311 rooms will be a new addition for Marriott International in Malaysia.
In 2022 - 2025, few hotels property are slated to open, such as:
1. ibis Styles Sepang KLIAThis hotel undergoes an extensive renovation and will be featuring 338 rooms, all-day dining restaurant, 4 meeting rooms, gym, swimming pool, and spa along with a rebuilt lobby reflecting the personality of the ibis Styles brand.
2. Conrad Kuala LumpurThis hotel expected to open in 2022 and will mark the launch of Conrad Hotels & Resorts into Malaysia and will be featuring 544 rooms.
3. Holiday Inn SepangThe hotel features 250 rooms and located conveniently in Kota Warisan.
4. Kempinski Hotel Kuala LumpurThis five-star Kempinski Hotel will be part of the 8 Conlay and will be the first and only Kempinski Hotel in Malaysia.
Other than the above, famous
DoubleTree by Hilton will mark its entry in Damai Laut, Perak in 2023. Kota Kinabalu will be the home for the first
Hyatt Centric Hotel in Malaysia and expected to open in 2022 besides the second
Avani Hotel which expected to open in 2023.
Canopy by Hilton will also be the highlight and located in Bukit Bintang City Centre besides the 252-room
Amari Kuala Lumpur which is situated within the KL Eco City and
Amari SPICE Penang which targets to open its door in 2022.
More hotels development is on its way with few major hotel brands in line such as the 180-room
Hotel Indigo Kuala Lumpur on the Park, the first Malaysia’s Kimpton Hotel in Kuala Lumpur located within Tun Razak Exchange,
The Nautilus Resort will set its way in Langkawi and
Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur. The largest hotel to open is the 690-room
Fairmont Kuala Lumpur and expected to be launch in 2022.
